Tyreek Larkins, 18, of Bear passed on Friday, June 24, 2016. Viewing will held on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 10:00am to 12 noon. at Abundant Life Christian Center, 113 Pencader Dr., Newark, DE. Celebration of Life will begin at 12 noon. Interment will be in Danville, VA.

It´s been 6 years since I´ve seen you and yet it feels like yesterday. I miss your sense of humor and your beautiful smile, but I hold it all in my heart. Thanks be to the Lord for the beautiful dreams that I sometimes have. I love you baby boy. Never forgotten!

To the Larkin family,
I taught Tyreek when he was a freshman and a junior at Hodgson a few years ago. Whenever he saw me he said hello and smiled. He was always respectful and made me laugh. We had a good student-teacher relationship. Once he graduated, I was fortunate enough to still see him here and there as he picked up his sister Tori from school every day as I was picking up my daughter. I am heart-broken to hear of this tragedy and offer love, hugs and prayers. God has just gained an angel. Spread your wings Tyreek...you will be missed!

To the Larkin's family especially to his Mom and Dad. I'm so very sorry for the loss of your dear son. I can only imagine your pain and still not to the degree that is even close. It hurts me personally to know of another tragedy such as this. My grandsons knew Tyreek and what sadness we feel. Please know that our Creator knows your pain and he is there to help your through this difficult most difficult time..

Tyreek, I haven't seen you since Thanksgiving Day 2014. You sat at the house all day and told me you'd be leaving when dinner was ready. I told you that you were welcome to stay but if your Mom was cooking that you should go home. You said my Mom is still cooking and waiting on the family so can I get a little plate?Then you had another huge plate! I said your Mom is going to get you. Now you're full and sleepy. I'll never forget you and I'll always think of you at my table on Thanksgiving. I love you. RIP and I'm rejoicing because you are a child of the most high God and you know the Lord.

Rori, words can not express how my heart bleeds for you and your family at this time. This world that we live in today can never be explained. Tyreek Larkins was one of my all-time favorite students. He was a bright, hard-working, funny, and respectful young man. At least once in every class, he would make me smile or laugh in some way. I am heart-broken to hear about his passing, and I will miss him dearly. Tyreek's family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers now and always.
