Anthony J. "Poppy" Kotowski, Jr.

AGE: 78 • New Castle

Resident of New Castle, DE passed away surrounded by his family on Dec. 1, 2013.

Born in Wilmington to the late Anthony Sr. and Alma. He was preceded in death by brothers, Richard and Robert; and great grandson, Aiden Marquis.

Tony proudly served his country as a Naval Reservist and Air Guardsman. He was retired from Insulators Union Local #42. He was past President of Nest #20 Polish Falcons of America, Past Grand Knight of Bishop Becker Council #2856, and 4th Degree member of Archbishop Fitzmaurice Assembly Knights of Columbus. Tony was a member of St. Peter's R. C. Church in New Castle for over 50 years, where he served as Eucharistic Minister and carnival committee member. Tony was also involved in various community organizations. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, reading, and playing cards at the Weston Senior Center.

He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 58 years, Glenda (Lillard); his sons, Donald (Laura), Anthony III (Beth); his daughters, Judith Marquis (Michael), Jacqueline Lee (Timothy), and Theresa O'Keefe; his grandchildren, Michael, Therese, Donald Jr., Nina, Anthony IV, Laura, Rhiannon, Meghan, Nicholas, Shea, and Derek; his great grandchildren, Liliana and Carmine; his brother, Stanley (Marie); and his sisters, Barbara Cimorosi, and Josephine Conti (Danny).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's R. C. Church, 5th & Harmony Sts., New Castle on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10 am. Friends may call at the Krienen Funeral Home, 34 West 6th St., New Castle on Thursday evening, December 5th from 6-8 pm. There will not be a visitation before the Mass. Interment in St. Peter R. C. Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 521 Harmony St., New Castle, DE 19720, or to the Sunday Breakfast Mission, P.O. Box 352, Wilmington, DE 19899.
