Barbara Blickley Grubb

Barbara B. Grubb, age 72, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Sam and Dorothy Blickley and was raised in East Lansdowne and Secane PA. She graduated from St. Cyril's grade school, East Lansdowne, PA in 1955, Notre Dame High School, Moylan, PA in 1959 and attended St. Joseph's College. Barbara initially went to work with the Bell Telephone Co. as an Administrative Assistant and later worked as an Office Manager for Standard Business Forms.

Barbara met Bill Grubb (Monsignor Bonner and Temple University) during her freshman year in High School and they were married eight years later. To family, friends or strangers, Barbara gave a smile that was second to none. She always left everyone feeling they were important and interesting.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents and all three siblings: Debby Perrone, Larry Blickley, and Steve Bumm. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Bill, three children; Catherine Green, her husband Jim, Vince Grubb, his wife Holly and Kevin Grubb, and his wife Amy, and nine grandchildren, Connor, Will , Camryn, Aine, Caelen, Natalie, Declan, Eamonn, and Teagan.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, July 31 at the Chandler Funeral Home at 2506 Concord Pike from 6 to 8 pm. In Celebration of her life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Saint Joseph's on the Brandywine, 10 Old Church Road, Wilmington, DE 19807 at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 1. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the , 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 1002, Wilmington, DE 19802.
