Barbara L. Goldstein, age 65, passed away July 12, 2013. She was born in Wilmington, DE, March 11, 1948.
Barbara graduated from P.S DuPont High School, Class of 1966. She attended Rider College in Lawrenceville, NJ, where she was president of the History Club. After graduation she did historical research at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA. From 1976 to 1982, she lived in London, England where she was particularly fond of the British Museum. She worked at several area banks retiring in 2010.
She loved watching ballets, operas and visiting art museums. She was a member of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She often enjoyed going to New York City during the ballet season. She spent her last weekend in New York City with friends doing what she loved, going to various ballets. Barbara also loved movies and was a frequent viewer at Theater N in downtown Wilmington. She was a member at Adas Kodesch Shel Emeth Congregation Synagogue.
Barbara is survived by her brother, Lawrence S. Goldstein of Wilmington; aunt, Beatrice Hoffman of Wilmington and two other aunts, several cousins around the country. She will also be missed by friends, Nancy Sifton of New York City and Jennie Lang of London, England. She was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Jean (Hoffman) Goldstein; also by her beloved cats, Percival the personable Persian, Puss Puss and Rudy.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 17, in the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702 from 10 to 11 am followed by a service in celebration of Barbara's life at 11 am. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
