Carolyn Irving Handy Letts
The only child of Cabell Preston Handy and Miriam Elizabeth Goddard Hall Handy Wood, Carolyn was born on December 24, 1941 in Wilmington. She passed away on April 10, 2012.
She worked at Archmere Academy as an aide in the English department from 1979 until she retired in 2008. Carolyn spent her life passionately supporting education, advocating for the causes she believed in, and devoted to her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, William J. Letts III; her children, William J. Letts IV (Brett) of Burlington, Canada, Amy Stuart Letts Hubbard (Steve) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Andrew Preston Letts (Kimberly) of Hingham, Massachusetts and grand-daughters Alexis Hubbard, Katherine Hubbard, Olivia Letts and Sophia Letts.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on May 20th, 2012, at 1 pm, in the Patio at Archmere Academy, 3600 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, Delaware.
