Dorothy passed away peacefully on January 18, 2014. Born in Middletown, Delaware on November 12, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gertrude Johnson. After spending the early part of her life as a devoted housewife and mother, Dorothy later went on to work for Winterthur, A-Del Construction and DMI. Sewing, Quilting and reading were her passion. She was also active for many years as an Awana leader and bible school teacher.
Dorothy is survived by her four children: Phillip Hough and wife Karen, Cindy Swezey and husband Bill, Sherri Hough, and Mark Hough and wife Kelly. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Patrick, Amanda, Mark Jr., Lexi, Kyalami, and Griffith; as well as her brother, Harry Johnson and sister, Barbara Anderson, and her two nephews: Ken and Todd. Dorothy was also survived by many aunts and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Daniels and Hutchison funeral home at 212 N. Broad Street, Middletown, DE on Friday January 24, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and a Funeral Service will be held at Bible Fellowship Church of Newark, 808 Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702 on Saturday January 25 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery.
