Obituary Condolences

Elizabeth "Betty" Davenport Obituary
Passed away surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Christiana Hospital. Born December 23, 1950 to the late Catherine "Susi" and late James Pullan, she was raised in Old New Castle (Shawtown) and graduated from St. Peter's High School in 1968.

Betty was one of thirteen children and was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter and Philip. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 39 years, John; her daughter, Joanna and her son, John Jr.; brothers, James Jr., Richard, Joseph, William and David Pullan; and sisters, Rita Smith, Bernadette Pullan, Catherine Davis, Felecine Indellini and Theresa Pullan. She will also be dearly missed by brothers and sisters in law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, her godchildren Katie and James, and her best friend, Marianne.

She worked at the Veterans Hospital, but retired early to care for her daughter Joanna's special needs and who will dearly miss her mother. Betty enjoyed spending time with family, cheering for the Phillies and buying things on QVC. She was known for her sense of humor and quick wit. Betty could make anyone laugh. She remembered everything...whether it was a birthday, anniversary or promotion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter's Church, 5th and Harmony Streets in Old New Castle, on Monday morning, November 19, 2012 at 10 am. Friends may call at the church Sunday afternoon from 4-6 pm. Interment in St. Peter's Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Autism Society of Delaware, 924 Old Harmony Road, Suite 201, Newark, DE 19713.
