Filideo Anthony Pompilii "Fil"

Filideo Anthony "Fil" Pompilii, age 75 of Wilmington, DE went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 12, 2012.
Fil was born and raised in Chester, PA, graduated from PMC College as a 2nd Lieutenant, then proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Westinghouse Co. and United Teleconnect Co. While in school, he enjoyed all sports especially football, and then went on to coach football in PA and DE. During his retirement, Fil spent many days on the golf course and shared his love of sports with his grandchildren. He cherished every moment he spent with his family and many friends.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Marge Cheseroni George Pompilii. In addition, he is survived by his daughters, Dina M. Hughes (Steve), Carla Ann Diksa (Dennis), Paula Naylor (Billy); son, Jeff George (Marisa); brother, Sonny Pompilii (Cheryl). Fil was very proud to be the grandfather of Jaclyn, Jessica, Derrick, Dakota, Dane, Francesca, Carliana, Angelina, Nina, and Mia, who were the light of his life. He always had the biggest smile whenever any of his grandchildren walked into the room or called him. He is also survived by three nephews and his favorite brother-in-law, Willy Cheseroni.
He was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Regina (Jacona), and our sweet angel, Angelina Grace Naylor.
The family will received guests at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Sts. in Wilmington, on Saturday morning, September 15 from 9:30-10 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 10 am. Burial will be held privately.
