Gordon G. Ward

Gordon G. Ward, age 71, of Middletown, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 20, 2013. Mr. Ward graduated from Moorestown High School in 1960. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of U.S. Sub Vets, Mid-Atlantic Region. He attended Love of Christ Church and served as an usher and Maintenance Ministry Leader and he was a member of Business Men's Fellowship. Gordon last worked at the Shaw Group as a project manager and previously with Raytheon and United Engineers for many years. He served as past president of Medford-Vincentown Rotary Club and former Councilman and Director of Public Safety to Medford.

Mr. Ward is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joann R. Ward; daughter, Kim A. Rittenhouse; son, Andrew A. Ward and wife Mary; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Oran and Marta Rives; 5 grandchildren: Josh & girlfriend Lauren W., Nick, Becca, Larissa and Lauren; lifetime friend, Jack Hornor; and loving nieces, nephews, extended family and church family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter E. Ward; and his parents, Walter and Helen Ward.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Love of Christ Church, 2157 Bear Corbitt Road, Bear, DE 19701 from 10am-12pm followed by a service in celebration of Gordon's life at 12 noon. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, condolences may be sent in Gordon's memory to Sunday Breakfast Mission, 110 N.
