James Coco

James Coco, 89 of Wilmington, DE peacefully passed away at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.

A veteran of the United States Army, he proudly served our country during World War II and was a prisoner of war, having been held in Germany for more than five months. Mr. Coco was employed as a salesman with the Tasty Baking Company and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church and the Newark Senior Center, where he served as a tour guide. He was also an avid sports fan.

Mr. Coco is survived by his wife of nearly 66 years, Esther (Reid) Coco; his son, T. James Coco and his wife, Karen; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and his brother, Paul Coco.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Friday, April 19 from 10:00 - 11:00AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM, followed by entombment in All Saints Cemetery.
