John went to be with the Lord, Sunday, December 8, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Edith E. and John A. Bull, Jr., and graduated from P.S. DuPont HS. John was a Navy WWII veteran, serving in the South Pacific on a destroyer. After the war he worked for Atlas Chemical Company, then Hercules Chemical Company as a traffic Manager, retiring in 1983. He graduated from LaSalle University with an associate degree in business. John played semi-pro baseball for Forty Acres, where he led the league in hitting one year. He was an avid Blue Hens Football fan, having season tickets for over 60 years. He also was a fan of the Detroit Tigers. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, enjoying the children's and grandchildren's activities. John served as a trustee and a deacon at his church for many years.

John was a devoted husband and is survived by his wife of 61 years, Myrtle C. "Kitty"(Brown) Bull. He was a loving father to his 2 children, Debbie Coggin(Ed) of Newark, and John A. Bull, IV of Wilmington and a loving grandfather to Emily Coggin Vera(Rafael) and the late Jesse Coggin who died 2011. He is also survived by his 2 great grandchildren, Rafi and Lili Vera.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, from 6-8pm, and a funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12 at 11am; all at MCCRERY & HARRA FUNERAL HOMES, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington. BURIAL WILL BE PRIVATE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in John's name to the Sunday Breakfast Mission,110 N. Poplar St., Wilmington, DE 19801.
