Josephine Monica Emerick,nee Marino, beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1st, 2014. She was the wife and best friend of Joseph G. Emerick. February 27, 2014 would have marked their 60th anniversary. Jo was born in Charleroi, Pennsylvania on February 5th, 1923. The daughter of Matthew and Teresa Marino, she and her six siblings grew up in Ford City , Pennsylvania. Jo was a graduate of Ford City High School and the University of Pittsburgh, where she received a business degree. She was employed as an executive secretary at Weigand Associates/Chromolox in Pittsburgh PA. Jo and Joe relocated to Delaware in 1958. After her children were grown, Jo enjoyed careers as a sales associate at John Wanamaker and as a substitute teacher in the Brandywine School District. Jo was a volunteer on behalf of Cystic Fibrosis and the March of Dimes.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Beatrice Marino, Gabriel Marino, John Marino, Elgisa "Mimi" Marino Riskosky, and Elda Marino Zell. In addition to her beloved Joe, Jo is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Lawrence); son, Christopher (Christina); son, John (Anne); grandchildren, Michael (Ashley), David (Susan), Joanna, Kelly (Brandon), Jordan. Thomas, Daniel, and Matthew; great-grandchildren, Jonathan and Avery; sister Colombia Marino Elli; sister-in-law, Virginia Marino, and her greatly loved Marino and Emerick nieces and nephews, and dear friends.

The family would like to thank those from Bayada Nurses and Heartland Hospice who cared for Jo.

Friends may call on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the MCCRERY & HARRA FUNERAL HOME, 3924 Concord Pike, Talleyville, 19803. Services will follow at at 7:30 pm. To send condolences visit:
