Mario T. Cichelli, age 93, of Hockessin, DE, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Cokesbury Village. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1920, the son of the late John and Candida (Grue) Cichelli.
Mr. Cichelli worked as a chemical engineer in technical and management positions throughout his career, including work with Rubber Reserve Company, the Manhattan Project, Mellon Institute of Industrial Research, the DuPont Company and Ametek Corporation.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister to the Sick. He also participated in programs to aid the homeless, as a director of STEHM, Inc., and in various committees at Cokesbury Village.
Mr. Cichelli is survived by his wife of 69 years, Genevieve; sons and daughters-in-law Richard and Martha of Nazareth, PA, David and Kathleen of Irvine, CA and John and Carol of Lenexa, KS; daughter Joanne Hill of Downingtown, PA; beloved grandchildren Sharon, Meredith, Jacob, Aaron, Diane, Joan, Brian and Adrienne; and six great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 am on Friday February 15, 2013 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. Interment will be private.
