Paul L. Schlosser Jr.

Age 58, of Newark, DE passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Wilmington Hospital. Paul was born on October 7, 1954 in Wilmington, DE.

After graduating from Newark High School in 1972 he attended the University of Delaware. Paul was owner & operator of Schlosser & Assoc. Mechanical Contracting Inc. An avid Triathlete, he was a USA Triathlon Association All American. Paul competed worldwide earning several awards. He was an age group winner in numerous national level triathlons and represented Team USA in the 2006 ITU World Championship in Switzerland. A proud accomplishment of his was completing the Weet-Bix Iron Man in New Zealand in 1996.

As a young man he played football, rugby and baseball. He enjoyed swimming, bowling, traveling with his wife and had a deep appreciation of the arts.

He was a past President of PHCC (Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Assoc.), past President of DCA (Delaware Contractors Assoc.), and served on the Board of the Newark Arts Alliance.

Paul is survived by his wife, Sheila Papa of Newark, DE; parents, Paul L. and D. Joanne Schlosser of Newark, DE; son, Matthew B. Gore of Newark, DE; sisters, Nancy Connell and husband Ron of Newark, DE, Paulette Ridgely and husband Bob of Glen Arm, MD, Kathy Beach and husband Paul of Delmar, MD and Garnet Dennis and husband Steve of Newark, DE; 8 loving nephews and 5 loving nieces.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline Wilbert in 2003.

A Celebration of Paul's life will be held at the Caffé Gelato Restaurant, 90 E. Main Street, Newark, DE 19711, Wednesday, May 15th from 2pm-7pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Newark Arts Alliance c/o R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, Newark, DE.
