Ronald L. Lindsey

Ronald L. Lindsey, 73, of Bear, DE went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was a proud, hardworking, generous man. Born in Altoona, PA in 1940, he was the son of Charles and Edith Lindsey. He graduated from Rahway High School and joined the Merchant Marines at the age of 18. In 1998, he retired after 40 years at sea working his way up from the engine room to Chief Mate. He was an active trap shooter, serving as an officer for the Wilmington Trapshooting Association, he also enjoyed golfing, hunting and crabbing with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Charles and his brother, Richard Lindsey. Ron is survived by his wife, Sara Lindsey; daughter, Tamera Piectrazak; sister, Charlene Scruggs; 2 granddaughters, Roni Weaver(Jason) and Samantha Dent (Dustin); 2 great grandchildren, Derek and Quinn and his extended family; Kim, Haley and Taylor Powers.

Funeral Services will be celebrated on Friday, January 17th at 11:00am at Beeson Funeral Home, 2053 Pulaski Hwy., Newark, DE, where family and friends may visit on Thursday, January 16th from 5 to 7:00pm. Burial will be on Friday following our celebration in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Casual Attire Please.
