Ruth Fitz-Randolph Taylor, age 81, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away Monday April 22, 2013. She died peacefully in her Greenville home with her six children close to her heart and her dog, Annie, at her side.

Ruthie was born in 1931 to Paul Fitz-Randolph and Eleanor Judkins Randolph and was raised in Clearwater, Florida. She was a graduate of The Madeira School in McLean, Virginia and Garland Junior College in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1951, she married Joseph Willis Taylor, a Princeton University graduate and a chemical engineer for the DuPont Company, and moved to Wilmington. Ruthie enjoyed membership in both Greenville and Wilmington Country Clubs and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Joe preceded Ruthie in death in 1986 after 35 years of marriage.
Family and friends were Ruthie's passion and delight. She loved tennis, golf, piano, bridge, music, birds and her flower gardens.
She is survived by a brother, Richard Fitz-Randolph of Lexington, Kentucky, a brother-in-law, John C. Taylor, III of Savannah, Georgia; six children: Elizabeth Hirsch of Old Greenwich, Connecticut; Joseph Willis Taylor, Jr. of Astor, Florida; Carol Easton of Tallahassee, Florida; Ruth Kitchen of Lexington, Virginia; P. Randolph Taylor and David Taylor, both of Hockessin, Delaware and ten grandchildren who will miss their Nana very much.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 W. 13th Street, Wilmington. Interment was held privately.
