Sarah (Burch) Gregg Obituary
Age 83, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2012 at Somerby of Mount Pleasant assisted living unit. After 58 years of living in Delaware, Sarah and her husband Don returned to her beloved home state of South Carolina in the summer of 2008.

Born in Cheraw, South Carolina January 24, 1929, Sarah completed elementary and high school in Cheraw before attending Furman University; graduating with a degree in elementary education. After graduating, she taught school in the mountains of North Carolina before she married and moved to Wilmington, Delaware where she was a devoted mother, wife, kindergarten teacher and active member of Limestone Presbyterian Church.

Sarah's love of children and devotion to the teaching profession enriched the lives of many children during her 25 years of teaching kindergarten in Wilmington. She enjoyed hearing about the accomplishments and activities of many of her former students.

From a family of Clemson fans, she found room in her heart to join her husband and friends in rooting for the Fighting Blue Hens of the University of Delaware, where she also earned a Masters degree in education. After retiring from teaching, Sarah's many activities included gourmet cooking clubs, photography, dancing classes, and an active social life with many friends. She will be remembered for her sense of fun and sheer delight in a good laugh. She never lost the love of adventure that led her to visit all 50 states and many foreign countries.

Sarah is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Donald Anson Gregg. She is survived by her three children, Donna Gregg Johnson and her husband Greg Johnson of Mount Pleasant, SC; Steven Gregg and his wife Jennifer of Chicago, Illinois; and David Gregg of Wilmington, Delaware. She also had two grandchildren; Kristen Foster and her husband Adam of Eugene, Oregon; Gretchen Johnson of Austin Texas; and her two beautiful great grandchildren, Gillian and Finn Foster; children of Kristen and Adam.

A memorial service will be held Monday, May 7, at 11 am, at Somerby of Mt. Pleasant, 3100 Tradition Circle, Mt Pleasant, SC. Expressions of sympathy can be made in Sarah's name to Point Hope United Methodist Church, 3404 Turgot Lane, Mount Pleasant, SC 29466.
