Age 82 of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 10th, 2013 surrounded by his loving family
A native Delawarean, Stanley was born in Wilmington November 13th, 1930, the son of the late Alexander and Mary Joswick.
Stanley proudly served his country during the Korean War. He spent most of his career working at New Castle County until he retired. He was a devout husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Stanley was proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed sharing traditions with his family during holidays. He enjoyed his time watching sports especially cheering the "Atlanta Braves", spending time at Delaware Park, bowling but his most passionate past time was spending time with his wife and family.
He is survived by his loving wife Burneice (Porter) of 58 years. his children Stanley (Tracy), Timothy (Silvia), Garry (Anna), Allen, MaryAnne DiStefano, Christine Johnson & Tracy Berggrun (Brian), Grandchildren Garry Jr., Ryan, Valerie, Andrea, Emily, John, Alyssa, Stephen, Kristin, Alexis, Stanley III, Luke and Brittanie, 12 Great Grand Children, his brothers Gene, Bob (Margaret), Ronald (Sandy) He was predeceased by his parents Alexander and Mary (Kempski), his brothers Alexander, John and his sister Dolly (Irvin)
We like to thank the amazing Staff at Christiana Hospital (MICU) for taking such good care of Stanley and his family during this most difficult time.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 17th at 11:30 at St. Elizabeth Church, Cedar and Clayton Streets, Wilmington, where friends and family are invited to visitation after 10 AM. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Elizabeth Church, 809 S. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19805 or to All Saints Catholic School, 907 New Road, Wilmington, DE 19805.
