Viola Nepa Santucci

Age 88, of Hockessin, DE passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, February 8, 2013 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Wilmington, Viola was the daughter of the late Ernest and Pearl (Verruno) Nepa. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School. She co-founded Manor Pharmacy in 1949 with her husband of 36 years, Michael A. Santucci, who predeceased her in 1983. The pharmacy was in operation for 25 or more years, where she served as CFO, bookkeeper, delivery person and basically everything but pharmaceuticals. She was a former member of Cavaliers Country Club, President of the Delaware Women's Golf Association and an avid golfer who won many tournaments and once scored a hole-in-one. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Leonard, Carmen, and Francis Nepa; and her sister, C. Jean Ianni.
She loved family gatherings. She will be dearly missed by her sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Robert Julian of Wilmington; her brothers-in-law, Edmond Ianni of Hockessin and Thomas Santucci of Wilmington; her sister-in-law. Louise Nepa of Boca Raton, FL; her niece, Karla Julian and her husband, Doug Smith, who aided her in her time of need; her godson, Ed Ianni (Ann Marie) and goddaughter, Nancy Julian; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Sheila Kima, her full time caregiver.
Friends and family are invited to visitation on Monday, February 11 between 6 and 8 pm at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 11 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th & DuPont Streets, Wilmington. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to either the Delaware Humane Society, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801 or Faithful Friends, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
