John F. Mullins III Obituary
John F. Mullins, III

AGE: 53 • Wilmington

John F. Mullins III, age 53, passed away Thursday, February 6th, after a valiant battle with Amyloidosis, a rare blood disease. He was a 1978 graduate of Salesianum High School and began working for DP&L. He retired from the company in 2009 after receiving a heart transplant.

John was a loving, loyal son, brother, father and grandfather. He took great joy in raising his two daughters and stepson. He loved watching them play soccer, and sharing with them the family past time, hunting. John was a gifted artist who enjoyed a variety of hobbies such as air-brush painting, duck carving, gardening and fishing. He was a skilled game hunter who loved hunting with his brothers and his fellow members of the Delaware 109 Club. He was also Past Master of Unity Lodge No. 32 A.F. & A.M. He filled our world with laughter and kindness, and he will be dearly missed.

Johnny is survived by his two daughters, Amanda and Abigale, his stepson Glenn Godwin, his grandsons, Ryker Godwin and Jayce Mullins, his mother, Bernice Pettoruto Mullins and four siblings, Brian (Cathy) of Hudson, OH, Mark (Olga O'Donnell), and Stephen (Amy) of Wilmington, DE and Theresa Shorey(Les) of Hockessin, and his beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father and his angel, John F. Mullins, Jr.
