Steven A. Hook, age 66, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on February 12, 2014. As he had been ill for many years, his positive and determined spirit was an inspiration to his family.
Born and raised in Upland, PA, Steven was a Class of 1965 graduate of Eddystone High School. He was a longtime resident of Wilmington, DE. In his spare time, he loved working on cars, listening to music and watching Judge Judy.
His fondest times were spending summers at the cottage at Langford Bay in Maryland with his family, as well as Sunday dinners at his mother's home. Steven had a love of John Deere tractors from his childhood memories of working on his grandparents' dairy farm in New London, PA.
Steven was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Catherine (Carroll) Hook. He is survived by his sister, Donna Fox; his niece, Samantha Fox and her husband, Bill Stull, and his great niece, Tiffany Stout. Steven is also survived by his daughter, Stephanie, as well as one granddaughter and several aunts and uncles.
The family would like to thank the staff at the 3D unit at Christiana Hospital, as well as the staff at Cadia Health Care Center in Pike Creek, for the loving and compassionate care that was given to Steven during his illness.
A viewing will be held on Monday, February 17th, from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803, where a funeral service will begin at 11:30 A.M. Interment will be held at Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.
