John J. Javorsky, Jr.

AGE: 70 • New Castle

John J. Javorsky, Jr., age 70, of New Castle, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014.

Born in Chickasha, OK on October 29, 1943, John was a son of the late John J. and Margaret Marie Javorsky. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps. John made his career as an HVAC technician with the University of Delaware and retired after 20 years of service.

Active in his faith, he was a longtime member of the Peniel United Methodist Church in Newport, DE. John was also a member of the Newark Elk's Lodge #2281, the Grand Moose Lodge in Claymont, DE and the American Legion of Sussex County, DE. John was a devoted and loving family man who will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Edmund and Chester Javorsky. John is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Dorothy McCambridge Javorsky; children, John J. Javorsky III, William V. Javorsky and Michelle Campbell; step daughters, Coleen Walls and Diana White; brother, Joseph John Javorsky; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.

Family and friends may visit from 10 am until 11 am on Tuesday morning, March 18, 2014 at the Peniel United Methodist Church, 115 E. Market Street, Newport, DE 19804. A committal service will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday afternoon, March 19, 2014 at The Chapel of Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Peniel United Methodist Church, at the address listed above.
