Martha Meikle Daisey, age 85, of Selbyville and formerly of Baltimore, MD died Monday, March 17, 2014 at Brandywine Assisted Living at Fenwick Island. She was born in Baltimore and was the daughter of the late John D. and Mabel (Holland) Meikle.
Martha was a retired Special Education teacher having taught in the Baltimore County School System and the Baltimore City School System, from which she retired. She was a member of St. Matthews By-The-Sea United Methodist Church in Fenwick Island, Havenwood Presbyterian Church in Timonium, MD and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also enjoyed traveling and playing bridge with her husband.
She is survived by a son, Paul H. Daisey and his wife Vicki of Bishopville; three daughters, Alice Daisey Calhoun and her husband David of Fenwick Island, Carol Daisey of Upperco, MD and Dana Daisey Grasmick and her husband John of Deerfield Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Neil Etter, Leslie Etter, Robert Remington, Lauren Rigler, Preston Daisey and Justin Daisey; a step-granddaughter, Melissa Hunter; four great grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston J. Daisey in 2011 and a son, Brian Daisey in 1994.
A funeral service will be held at 4pm on Thursday, March 20 at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville with Rev. Bruce Miller officiating. Friends may call an hour before the service. A memorial service will be held on Monday March 24 at 3:30 pm at Havenwood Presbyterian Church in Timonium.
