June 24, 1930 * March 19, 2014

Patricia Ann Bucci, age 83 and lifelong resident of Wilmington, went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2014 with family by her side at the Compassionate Care Center at St. Francis Hospital.

Patricia was born in Wilmington, DE on June 24, 1930, daughter of the late Howard and Anne (Gibson) Massey. She married Mauro J. Bucci in 1953. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker extraordinaire. Always putting others first, she had a heartfelt passion for helping families with in-home child care. She was an avid reader, shopper, and baker, and spent most of her time enjoying her family and friends. She loved German Shepherds, the beach, sun tanning, and shorts.

Patricia is survived by her devoted husband of over 60 years, Mauro; four children, Mike Bucci of Wilmington, Joe Bucci (Sue) of Raleigh, NC, Mark Bucci (Lisa) of Wilmington, and Bud Bucci (Stephanie) of Richland, WV; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brother, Pete Massey (Anne) of Eustis, FL. She was predeceased by her sister, Betty, and brother, Howard "Bud".

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Larson as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff of Christiana Care 4D and Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital for their attentive and excellent care of Patricia. Special appreciation is extended to Jesus Christ for his love, guidance, and protection.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd. in Wilmington, on Thursday, March 27 at 12noon. Interment will follow in St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery, 10 Old Church Rd. in Greenville. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, prior to mass, from 10:30am to 12noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803 or to Jesus House Center, 2501 Milltown Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808 or to Catholic Charismatic Renewal, PO Box 353, Smyrna, DE 19977.
