Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014.

Stephen was born and resided in Wilmington, Delaware. He graduated from Brown Vocational High School, and was an electrician before enlisting in the United States Army, where he was assigned to be a radar operator. He valiantly performed these duties with the 108th A.A.A. Gun Battalion throughout North Africa, Italy, France, and Germany. He was entitled to wear 5 battle stars for major campaigns in these countries and a bronze arrowhead for the D-Day landings in Southern France.

Returning home to Wilmington, he worked for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

Stephen is survived by his sister, Mary Durnall, niece, Patricia Ulmer, nephews, Steve Kokoska and Ronald Arters; great-niece, Kim Turcol; great-nephew, Al Head; and four great-great nieces, Jessica and Skylar Head, and Cheyenne and Savannah Turcol.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Service on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 am. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery.
