Georgene was born in Wilmington, DE and grew up on South Harrison Street in Wilmington. She graduated from Wilmington High School and attended Goldey Beacom College. She also attended Charm & Modeling School, and modeled at the Hotel duPont. She was a stay-at-home mom for many years. Georgene married the love of her life, Jack on April 24, 1965 at St. Hedwig R.C. Church. She was a long time member of St. Hedwig's and was active in the PTA and holiday plays when her children were in school there. Georgene was very religious and prayed the rosary each night. She loved her husband Jack and would spend every second of every day with him if she could. Georgene and Jack did everything together. Georgene loved to make teddy bears and flower arrangements. She loved angels and collected ceramic angels.
Mom-Mom loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved to teach them new things whether it was how to solve a puzzle or learn to read. She was able to soothe a crying baby with the beautiful sound of her voice. Her grandchildren loved the songs that she taught them.
Georgene was preceded in death by her father, John Chmura, mother, Genevieve (Filas) Chmura, brother Paul Chmura, and son-in-law, Bryan Eisenhardt.
Georgene and her husband, John J. Dorris, Jr., left this earth a few hours apart after the collision. They recently celebrated 49 years of marriage.
