AGE: 61 • Wilmington

Michael P. Doody, "Bear", 61 of Wilmington passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital on Friday, May 9, 2014.

Mike was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Marie L. (Sweeney) and Arthur H. Doody. He retired from DuPont, Stein-Haskell after 20 years. He was a graduate of Conrad High School, a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church and a member for over 42 years of Cranston Heights Fire Company where he was also a past president. He cherished the lifelong friendships he made through the fire service and loved to reminisce on stories from "good ole days". Mike enjoyed the game of golf and was an enthusiastic Eagles fan.

Bear is survived by his daughters, Ryan Santos and Alyce Doody; his brother, Arthur Doody, Jr. and his wife Ann; his sister, Ann Marie Keefer and her husband, David; his niece, Andrea Kramer and her husband, Jim and his nephew, Matthew Keefer, all of Wilmington.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:30AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 2501 Centerville Road, Wilmington. Friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. Burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington.
