Lillian A. Bomgardner passed away on May 25, at the Milton & Hattie Kutz Home, her residence since January.
Lillian was born in Flint, Michigan to Lilian Russam Tambs and Francis Tambs. Her husband, Clyde Bomgardner (Cleona, PA), preceded her in death.
A talented pianist and crafter, she had a passion for reading, gardening, and the arts. Lil travelled extensively across the U.S. in her younger years, and enjoyed her time as a career woman before embracing the role of parent and grandparent. Quick to volunteer wherever help was needed, she was active in the Episcopal Church, Girl Scouts, and our public schools. Lil will be remembered for her grace and the playful sense of humor that sustained her even as her body became frail.
She is survived by children David Bomgardner (Tina), Lilian Miles (Paul), and Mark Bomgardner; and grandchildren Sarah Bomgardner, Noah Miles and Katelyn Bomgardner. Lillian's family would like to thank the staff at The Kutz Home and Compassionate Care Hospice for filling her final days with love and support.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing from 10:15-11 a.m. Thursday, June 5 at Grace Episcopal Church, 4900 Concord, Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A memorial service will follow in the church.
To honor Lillian's memory, contributions may be made to Grace Episcopal Church or to The Kutz Home, 704 River Road, Wilmington, DE 19809.
