Dorothy G. Davis (nee Goldstein)

"Memom", age 91, passed away on June 11, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy, originally from Philadelphia, PA, moved to Delaware in recent years to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert P. Davis, the loving mother of Barbara (Kevin Strauss), Elliot (Dee), and Edward (Linda). Also surviving are her adoring grandchildren Emily (Peter Feng), Sarah, Clark, Bess, Juli, and of course, Olive, Jackson, Murphy and George.

During her early years, Dorothy was an excellent student and attended business school following an early graduation at age 16 from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia. At age 21, Dorothy eloped with the love of her life, Bob, prior to his service overseas in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Dot and Bob were married for over fifty two years. Dorothy's professional career in the business world was varied and included real estate sales and office management. She also served as a Committee Person for the Democratic Party in Philadelphia for many years, a position of which she was very proud.

Since living at the B'nai B'rith House in Delaware, Dorothy has enjoyed having new acquaintances become good friends. Of all of her accomplishments, what gave Dorothy the most joy were her relationships with her family. Her warmth and wisdom will be missed by all.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, June 13, 2014 at Roosevelt Memorial Park, 2701 Old Lincoln Highway, Trevose, PA 19053. Shiva will be observed at the home of Barbara and Kevin Strauss until sundown Friday night.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
