Frank A. Ciconte

Age 93, passed away in Milford on July 4, 2014.

Frank was born in Wilmington on July 20, 1920, son of the late Pasquale and Vittoria (Pepperess) Ciconte. Stationed in the Philippines, he served his country with honor and valor during WWII as a proud member of the U.S. Army. His sense of pride and camaraderie with fellow veterans remained evident through his service as Commander of the VFW Post 3257. Frank enjoyed a lengthy career with the DuPont Company, retiring after 38 exemplary years. Above all else, he possessed and demonstrated endless devotion to his family.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Frances E. (Zielinski) Ciconte. He is survived by his sons, Frank R. Ciconte Ocean View and Thomas Ciconte (Brenda) of Georgetown; grandchildren, Anthony Ciconte (Renee), Deanna Peck (Rodney), and Lisa Bowers (Larry); 2 great-granddaughters; sister, Louise Gilberto (Ben); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4th and Bancroft in Wilmington, on Wednesday, July 9 at 11:30am. Interment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday morning, prior to mass, from 10-11:15am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd, Milford, DE 19963.
