AGE: 80 • Wilmington

Theodore "Ted" Jordan of Wilmington, DE, and Bronxville, New York, died on July 15, 2014, at St. Francis Compassionate Care in Wilmington, DE after a short illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Andromache (Sikiaridis) Iordanides (Jordan) of Athens, Greece, and his brother D. A. "Jim" Jordan.

Ted was a graduate of University of Leeds, England, attended Columbia University, and was awarded an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He began his professional career with DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware, and ended his career at Stonecutter Mills in New York City.

Ted was known for his love of gardening, extraordinary Greek culinary skills, faithful volunteer service with Meals on Wheels in Bronxville, NY, Habitat for Humanity, devotion to his extended family, and enthusiasm for lifelong learning taking multiple classes each term at Iona College.

Ted is survived by Mary Eustergerling his partner of over 50 years, his older brother, George Jordan (Susanne) of Greensboro, NC, nephews and niece, Mark Jordan of Mount Vernon, NY, Peter Jordan (Molly Barnes) of Berkeley, CA, Andrew Jordan (Stephanie Patridge) of Columbus, OH, Katherine Jordan (Frank Prohaska) of Seattle, WA; and great nephews Jakub, Theo and Stuart.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike Hockessin, DE 19707 on Tuesday, July 22, at 10:30am. Entombment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 200 Pondfield Road, Bronxville, NY 10708.
