AnnaBelle Brown, 92, of Hockessin, DE peacefully passed away with her beloved family at her side on Sunday, July 27, 2014.
AnnaBelle was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Francis E. and Edna M. (Bishel) Brown. Upon her graduation from Wilmington High School, she became an employee of the Diamond State Telephone Company and retired in 1985 after more than 45 years of dedicated service. Early in her career, she proudly placed long distance phone calls for our nation's returning World War II heroes using a company switchboard that had been set up in the Wilmington Train Station.
AnnaBelle was an avid shopper and enjoyed reading, playing canasta and knitting items for her loved ones. She appreciated the beauty of a flowering spring, and always placed the needs of others before her own.
AnnaBelle is survived by her loving nieces and their families; and her beloved pet, Zoe.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Jean, Francis Jr., Betty and Edna.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to all who provided care and companionship to our beloved Aunt AnnaBelle.
