AGE: 88 • Newton

Marvin S. Quinn, 88, of Newton, New Jersey died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at home. Mr. Quinn was born and lived in Lansing, Michigan, for 32 years. He then lived in Newark, Delaware, for 54 years before moving to Newton two years ago. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran. Mr. Quinn worked for and retired from Motor Wheel Corp. in Newark, Delaware. Prior to that he was employed by the C & O Railroad in Lansing. A former member of the Newark Wesleyan Church in Newark, Delaware, Mr. Quinn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newton. He was also a longtime member of the Lions Club in Newark. He was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellows for Humanitarian Service to the Community, the Lions' highest honor.

The son of the late Kenneth J. Quinn and Bertha (Dunn) Quinn, Mr. Quinn was also predeceased by his wife, Margaret R. (Haley) Quinn; his daughter, Pamela Quinn, formerly of Mays Landing, New Jersey; and two brothers, Gordon and Harry, formerly of Lansing, Michigan. He is survived by his son, Terry Quinn and wife, Kathy, of Fredon, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Megan Beyer, Brandon Quinn, Kelsie Quinn and Kylie Quinn.; his great-grandson, Aiden Beyer; his sister, Merna Quinn Budden of Lansing, Michigan; and many nephews and nieces.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Head of Christiana Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1100 West Church Road, Newark, Delaware 19711. Memorial donations may be made to the Newark Wesleyan Church, 708 West Church Road, Newark, Delaware 19711.
