Curtis Line Obituary
Curtis James Line, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 surrounded by family and loved ones at Christiana Hospital.
A native Delawarean, Curt graduated from De La Warr High School in New Castle and lived in Newark with his beloved wife, Debbie. The two adored each other and were inseparable. Curt served four years as a member of the United States Air Force and six years with the National Guard. He was employed by B&B Industries, formerly Horace Potts Steel, for 45 years as a salesman and office manager.
Curt was an accomplished musician, most notably as the bass player of the band, Castle, in the 1970's and 1980's. He also enjoyed bowling, home improvement, and following the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Curt is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; son, Tucker Smith and wife Michelle of Newark, DE; son, Curtis Line Jr. of Newark, DE; stepdaughter, Candace Raysor and husband Chuck of Chapin, SC; stepdaughter, Lindsay Nolan of Amherst, MA; sister, Judy Ruarke of New Castle, DE; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles A. Line and Norma Weaver-Line; and brother Buddy Line.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December 13, at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 10 am to 12 pm followed by a service in celebration of Curt's life at 12 noon. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE.

Curt was a great friend and a great bass player and drummer. Not to mention our primary association: a good customer who was always pleasant to deal with. I am still in shock and always will be.

To the Line Family: I send my sincere sympathy. Curt was a member of my high school class DLW '66. We as a class now morn the loss.
We (DLW '66) just celebrated our 45th reunion. We always recognize those that we have lost. We will always remember Curt, this soft spoken guy who loved a good laugh, tell an old story and to play in his band.

I am glad to say that I knew this man for many years first through Lyndsay and then later and an employee of B & B. Curt was a kind man that would give you the shirt off his back.
