Robert H. Baker Jr.

Robert H "Bob" Baker Jr. passed away May 5, 2012. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of Robert H Baker Sr. and Julia Eggleston Baker.

He graduated from The Baylor School in Chattanooga and entered Vanderbilt University in Nashville. His schooling was interrupted by service in the United States Navy at the end of the Second World War. He completed his college education at The University of Chattanooga.

Mr. Baker came to Wilmington to work in the Textile Fibers Division of E I DuPont de Nemours. After his retirement he was associated with Delaware Today Magazine and later, Hagley Museum. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Mr Baker is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol K. Baker, two sons Robert H. Baker III of Columbia, South Carolina, and Ted K. Baker of Wilmington. In addition he is survived by a brother, Jody Baker of Chattanooga, one granddaughter, and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Methodist Country House and Delaware Hospice for their care for Mr. Baker.

A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Pennsylvania Ave, & Rodney St. in Wilmington on Thursday, May 10, at 11 am. Burial will be private.
