Charles J. Agster

Age 84, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 with his family by his side after a long and courageous struggle with prostate cancer.
Born in Wilmington, DE to the late Charles and Bessie Agster in 1928, he graduated from P.S. Dupont High School, and then went to work at Purina Chow Co. After a short time there, he went on to work for Gates Engineering in Wilmington as an offset pressman until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and crabbing in his early days and always had a good "the one that got away" story to tell about his boating trips.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy D. Agster (Deats) and his two children, Charles J. Agster Jr. and his fiancée Jeanie White of Elsmere as well as his daughter Penny Agster Nasuti and her husband Floyd of Newark. In addition, he is survived by his 3 grandchildren, Ciara, Jordan, and Nicky whom he enjoyed spending his time with by reading to them, helping with homework and playing his favorite game of checkers.
The family would like to thank Seasons Hospice and Easter Seals for all their help and support during the last few months.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 15 at 1 pm at the MCCRERY & HARRA FUNERAL HOME, 3710 Kirkwood Highway at Duncan Road, where friends may call after 12 noon. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
