Luis A. Rosado of Dover passed away Monday October 29, 2012 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 89.

Mr. Rosado was born May 5, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Juan Rosado and Julia Pedreira Rosado.
He served in the United States Army 82nd Airborne during WWII. Mr. Rosado worked for Hercules Chemical for 33 years as a mechanical engineer retiring in 1985. He was a member of the VFW in Ocean View, and Lodge #19 Delaware City Masonic Lodge and a life member of the Christiana Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Rosado enjoyed oil painting and spending time with his family and friends on the beach at Fenwick Island, DE.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Alan "Kim" Rosado, 1975 and a brother, Rolando Rosado 1995.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Emily Taylor Rosado of Dover; sons, Luis Rosado, Jr. and his wife Shelli of Wichita, KS, Don Rosado and his wife Maggie of Middletown, DE, Carl Rosado and his wife Gale of Elkton, MD, Earl Rosado and his wife Carol of Simi Valley, Ca and Glen Rosado and his wife Laura of Elkton, MD; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 1pm Monday November 5, 2012 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may come one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the 72 Benevolent Care Fund, Westminster Village, 1175 McKee Road, Dover, DE 19904.
