Arlene C. Ward went home to be with the Lord on November 1, 2012 at the age of 70. Mrs. Ward was born the eldest of three children to Mattie Minus and the late Philip Herman Cofeild in Philadelphia, PA on March 21, 1942. She was also, the widowed of the late Kenneth Walter Ward Sr.
Arlene was considered a true lady and mother to many because of her warm compassion, beautiful smile, and soft spoken words of wisdom. She was also reknowned for her skillfulness in cooking and baking.
Arlene leaves to cherish her sweet memory, her two loving sons, Kenneth Ward Jr. (Antionette) and Philip Ward (Montrell); her mother, Mattie Cofeild; her sister, Linda Harding (Alfred); her grandchildren, Monica, Tasha, Madonna, and Jaiden; and a host of beloved family and friends.
The Homegoing Celebration Service for Arlene will be held at Bethel AME Church, 604 N. Walnut Street, Wilmington, DE 19801 on Saturday, November 10. There will be a viewing from 7:30 to 9:30 am, and the Homegoing Celebration Service will begin at 9:30 am.
