Eleanor F. Pritchett

Eleanor F. Pritchett, of Wilmington, died peacefully on November 9, 2012 having recently celebrated her 92nd birthday.

Eleanor was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Irene and Robert Houghton and graduated from Sawanaka High School and a business school in New York City and later worked for the Nickel Company on Wall Street. Eleanor was a quintessential New Yorker who loved meeting her girlfriends on a regular basis for dinners and Broadway shows. Eleanor met the love of her life, Malcolm S. Pritchett, they married and raised their children in Bethpage, Long Island. They enjoyed summers spent at local Jones Beach swimming in the ocean and winters spent sledding and ice skating.

We were blessed to have such wonderful parents. We will forever miss our mother's love, support, kindness and exceptionally sweet disposition, along with a great sense of humor. Her inner strength was an inspiration to her family, she taught us by example.

Eleanor's family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Compassionate Care Hospice, especially Nikki and Ayanna, for the loving care they showered on Eleanor

Eleanor's husband of 60 years, Malcolm, died in 2009 and she was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Judith Pritchett. She is survived by her loving children, Bruce Pritchett and Joan Kozicki and husband Stan, with whom Eleanor lived. She is also survived by her devoted grandchildren: Christopher Kozicki (Anne), Matthew Kozicki (Trisha), Jesse Pritchett and Elizabeth Narasaki (Michael). She is also survived by her cherished great-grandchildren, Michelle, Sean and Kevin Kozicki and Noah Narasaki. Her 5th great-grandchild is due in January. Eleanor is also survived by her sister-in-law Ellen Pickering (Kenneth) and brother-in-law Wayne Pritchett (Doris) and many nieces and nephews.
