Age 78, of Port Deposit, Maryland, passed away on November 20, 2012 at home surrounded by her family as she ended her courageous battle with Leukemia. She was born September 5, 1934. She was the wife of Donald B. Ayers, and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on January 16, 2013.

Ethel was a loving wife and mother to her husband and family. She was so proud of all her children and grandchildren. She lived in Cecil County for 73 years operating a dairy farm with her husband. She was a member of West Nottingham Presbyterian Church serving many roles there. She was an avid reader. Her hobbies were sewing and gardening. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. In her youth, she was the Cecil County Farm Queen in 1950.
She is predeceased by her father, C. Franklin Delp, mother, Minnie Price, stepmother, Jessie Delp and brother, Clarence Delp. In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by her children: Donald M. Ayers and his wife, Sherry; Mary L. Parker and her husband, Bill; Michael S. Ayers and his wife, Marylou; Susan M. Watterson; Frances A. Breen and her husband, Kenny; and Heidi J. A. Gilmore and her husband, Kevin. Grandchildren: Charles W. Ayers, Alan L. Ayers, Lisa L. Ford, Dawn M. Hamilton, C. Michelle Edwards, Michael S. Ayers, Jr., Walter M. Ayers, D. Alan Watterson, Marc J. Crossan, and Morgan C. Crossan. Great Grandchildren: Joseph Ford, Courtney Ford, Cody Hamilton, Allison Hamilton, Dylan Edwards, Dustin Edwards, Devon Edwards, Kyle Ayers, Zachary Ayers, Bryce Wilgus and Tyler Hess. Her sisters, Rowena England, Cora Sue Snyder and Linda Preston; her brother, Frank Delp.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate her life at West Nottingham Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to West Nottingham Presbyterian Church, 1195 Firetower Road, Colora, MD 21917.
