Age 64, of Bear, DE, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Christiana Hospital.

Gary was born in Wilmington, DE to Ruth M. Gallaher and the late Robert E. Gallaher on July 23, 1948.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Linda A.; son Scott G. and wife Vanessa; son SGT Steven G. and wife Ashley; his grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Victoria, Elijah, Zachariah, Josiah, Savannah, McKayla, Anastasia, and Riley. He is also survived by his sister Linda; his brother Jeff and wife Carol; and nieces and nephews.

Gary graduated from Newark High School in 1966, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was a graduate of Del Tech. He was employed by DuPont for over 45 years and retired from there in September of 2011.

Gary was a lifelong member of White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, was an Elder and served on several committees. He was a weekly bowler for most of his adult life. He was an avid weather observer since his teens, was a member of the Atlantic Coast Observers Network and an observer for the NWS.

Visitation will be held at White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church, 15 Polly Drummond Hill Road, Newark, DE 19711, on Tuesday night, December 11, at 6-7 pm with the funeral service starting at 7 pm. Burial Service will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE 19701, on December 12, at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Red Cross or White Clay Creek Presbyterian Church.
