Early Sunday morning, February 10, 2013, Ruth, 89 of Wilmington, DE slipped the chains of her earthly frame and entered the gates of heaven with praise to meet her Jesus that she served for many years. Much of her family, friends and husband were also there to greet her.

Ruth was born October 16, 1923 to the late James and Marion Cole of Wilmington, DE. She was married to Donald for 51 years who predeceased her in 1991. They raised three children.
Ruth was a dedicated homemaker and a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom, grand mom and great grand mom. During WWII she worked at Westinghouse in Lester PA. In her early years she took part in helping prepare the weekly radio broadcast for Pentecostal Echoes at 23rd and Pine Assembly of God, where she would play the piano and also sing with her husband. She was then a pianist at the Wilmington 1st Assembly of God for many years. In her later years, she no longer played for the church but would occasionally stand at the baby grand in her home to play some tunes by memory with arthritic fingers. At her passing she was attending the Elkton Church of God with her son and youngest daughter/caregiver.
Ruth is survived by her three children; Carol and husband Robert MacDonald, Sr., of NC; Dean and wife Diane of MD; Cheryl Richwine of DE, and sister Mary Jane Miller of PA. Ruth is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and a set of twins due in August.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Ruth's life at 11:00 am on Friday, February 15th, at the chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Highway New Castle, DE 19720. A visitation will begin at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in the memorial park.
