Karen Marie Lockwood

KAREN MARIE LOCKWOOD, passed away on February 21, 2013. Karen was born May 23, 1967 daughter of Carroll and Dolores Lockwood, Warwick, MD. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, and kind to all whom she loved. She cherished her family.

She especially enjoyed the summer time and the family get-togethers each weekend. She cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews who were a big part of her life. She enjoyed boating, going to the beach, traveling to the islands, gardening, and enjoyed making everyone around her laugh. She was an animal lover, and will be missed by her cat Mr. Jingles.

Karen was known for her gift of interior decorating; she so much enjoyed transforming a house into a home.

Karen graduated from Bohemia Manor High School in 1985, where she was gifted and talented in Art. She went on to college to study and become an accountant. She then went on to be employed as a CPA at Summit Aviation. She also worked at a Property Management Co. In recent years she had not worked due to her health.

Karen resided in Galena where she was happy and full of life and had many plans for the future. Her heart gave out and her life was cut short. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Along with her parents she is survived by her sisters, Sheila Tweed (Les), Elkton, MD, Julie Metzger (Greg), Galena, MD and Linda Swyka, Warwick, MD: nieces, Gwen Schoenberger (Tyler) and Sarah Metzger; nephews, Devin Ewing and Andrew Swyka; husband, Ted Rock; special friend, Stephen Atwater and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Friends may call on Monday evening, February 25 from 6 to 8 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, and on Tuesday, February 26 from 12 to 1 pm, where funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Burial in Galena Cemetery.
