Patrick V. Coleman

Patrick V. Coleman, 63, formerly of New Philadelphia and a resident of Broad Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Frackville, passed away Wednesday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.

Born in Pottsville, July 15, 1949, he was a son of Margaret Stutz Coleman and the late Edward "Doug" Coleman, who died Feb. 8, 1968.

He was a 1967 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, Pottsville, and attended Penn State Schuylkill. Pat was a Vietnam veteran in the Army, attaining the rank of sergeant with the 3rd Battalion 84th Artillery. He was a union member of Boilermakers Lodge 13 of Philadelphia, PA. He spent his work career in the power generation and oil refining industries. He spent the majority of his career at the Delaware City, Delaware refinery as a maintenance foreman.

ln addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael J. Coleman on Sept. 11, 2004, and the Rev. Edward W. Coleman on April 7, 2007.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Stutz Coleman, New Philadelphia; a son, Patrick V. Coleman and his wife, Christa, Hummelstown; two daughters, Elizabeth and her husband, Jason Cohen, Lindenhurst, NY, and Kathryn and her husband, William Anthony, Port Carbon; two brothers, william Coleman and his wife, Teresa, New Castle, DE, and Christopher Coleman and his wife, Lisa, New Philadelphia; two sisters, Margaret and her husband, Victor Arbushites, Lake Wynonah, and Ann Coleman, New Philadelphia; a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Coleman, Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, Caiden, Olivia, Parker, Ava and Mattea; 10 nieces and nephews; a great-niece.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am Saturday in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 99 Valley Street New Philadelphia, with the Rev. Ronald Minner as celebrant. Relatives and friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Friday and from 8 to 10:30 am Saturday at Thomas J. Bartashus Funeral Home, Water and Kimber Streets, New Philadelphia. lnterment with military honors will be in Holy Family Cemetery.
