Paul H. Martin

Paul H. Martin, age 88, of Bear, DE, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2013 surrounded by his family. Mr. Martin proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II and earned a Bronze Star and Victory Medal for his service. He was a private pilot and owned two Piper Planes. He was a member with AMA (American Motorcycle Association) and the Harrisburg Motorcycle Club. Mr. Martin loved watching horses while they raced, and vacationing in his motor home and traveling all over the United States. Above all that he had in his life, nothing compared to the love he shared with his wife and family.

Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Phyllis V. Martin; son, Paul H. Martin Jr.; daughters, Patti Martin and Ann Malane, and Pamela Martin Collacchi and husband William; brother, Ted E. Martin and wife June; sister, Louann Long; grandchildren: Michael, Jamie, Paul III, Brandan and Robert; and 2 great grandchildren, Rebecca and Andrew.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 9:30am-11am followed by a celebration of Paul's life at 11am. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Summer Winds Stables, 148 Greystone Road, Hartly, DE 19953.
