Age 90, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at Christiana Hospital on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Born in Wilmington, Lonzy was the son of the late Roxy E. and Lonzy W. Seymour Sr. He was a 1940 graduate of Wilmington High School. He served his country proudly in the US Army during World War II as Supply Sergeant for the 778th Tank Batallion. He was awarded the Bronze Star for gallantry in action in the campaign of Metz and Saariautern. For 37 years, he worked as a laboratory technician for the DuPont Company at the Newport Pigments Plant, retiring in 1982. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Gay Anne Bennett, his brother, James F. Seymour and his sister, Myrtle Carey.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years, Emily M. (Hoffman) Seymour and his son, Lonzy W. Seymour III.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 11 am at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Avenue, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Christ United Methodist Church, 6 N. Clifton Ave., Wilmington, DE 19805.
