Harry A. Hopkins Jr.

Harry A. Hopkins, Jr. 91, of Wilmington DE, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013.

Harry was a lifelong resident of Wilmington. He was born to Flossie and Harry Hopkins Sr. on December 6, 1921. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Edith Hopkins, sisters Margaret Hinrichs and Grace Mangold, and brother Richard Hopkins. Harry is survived by his brothers, Ronald Hopkins and David Hopkins. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Harry enjoyed a full life. He was a World War II veteran. Harry also spent 39 years employed by ICI at the Atlas Point Plant. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends, as well as traveling with his wife, Edith. He was a long time member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Wilmington. Harry was an active member of the Masons, and was proud to have been honored for more than 50 years of service.

The viewing and Masonic Service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, from 6-8 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway Wilmington, 19808. The viewing will be from 6 to 7:30 pm, and the Masonic Service will follow. A Memorial Celebration will be held Thursday, April 4, at 11 am at Calvary Presbyterian Church, 701 S. Maryland Avenue Wilmington, 19804. Burial will be private.
