Anthony Charles Maguire, Jr.


Anthony, age 17 of Wilmington, came into this world as a child of God and was called home on April 20, 2013. His beautiful spirit will live on in our hearts forever.

Anthony was a junior at A.I DuPont High School. He will be lovingly remembered for his bigger than life personality. He was a kind, charming and extremely entertaining young man. His presence brought a beautiful light and energy to every situation. Anthony enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends, especially those beach trips. He aspired for a career in law enforcement and was preparing his path to realize this dream. Anthony will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

Anthony is survived by his mother and father, Anthony Sr. and Jennifer Maguire, sister, Marisa Maguire and brother, Jordan King; grandparents, Joseph and Charlotte Maguire and Guille Opdenaker. He is also survived by his many loving and devoted aunts, uncles and cousins. Anthony was predeceased by his aunt Lana Maguire Coleman. He will also be dearly missed by big dog "Nikko".

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, April 26, from 5 to 8 pm at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 27, at St. John the Beloved, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington at 10:00 am. Interment will be private.
