Cathy L. Reese

Cathy L. Reese, age 53, of Kennett Square, PA, went home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2013. A woman of strong faith, she lived her life in devotion to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, her family, & her career. She grew up in Mt. Shasta, California and graduated from Columbia University, magna cum laude & George Washington University Law School, Juris Doctor with honors. She was a Principal in the Delaware office of Fish & Richardson, heading the firm's Chancery and Corporate Governance practice as well as Chair of the IP Risk Management Group. Cathy was recognized for her legal skill by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers, Law & Politics, & national Corporate Counsel Edition of Super Lawyers in the area of business litigation. She also was a board member for Delaware Hospice, Inc., Delaware Leadership Foundation & Houghton College President's Advisory Board as well as an active member of Brandywine Valley Baptist Church.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 31 years, Robert Paul Reese, Jr.; her sons, Robert "Beau" P. Reese III & Tucker Jonathan Reese; her daughter, Tyler Catherine Reese; her mother and father-in-law, Margaret & Robert P. Reese, Sr.; three brothers, John, Kaign, & William Christy; & her sisters, JoAnn Lamb & Caroline Trenham. She was preceded in death by her parents, John & JoAnn Christy.

Family and friends are invited to a Visitation on Tuesday, July 23, from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803. A service in celebration of Cathy's life will follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to Brandywine Valley Baptist Church, the Cathy L.
