Frank Vasilikos, age 52, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, DE. He was born on September 3, 1961 in Korinos-Pierias, Greece, the son of Marika (Agianithou) Vasilikos and the late Panagiotis Vasilikos.
Frank's family emigrated to America in 1966 and settled in Delaware. Frank was raised in Wilmington, attending Salesianum High School and the University of Delaware where he studied business. Following school, Frank returned to the family business, providing hospitality to thousands over two decades at the family owned and operated Sand Palace Motel in Dewey Beach.
Frank had a keen eye for business and along with his brother, Michael, established many successful businesses and real estate ventures in Sussex County. Despite his professional success, he remained true and humble to his upbringing and was a good friend to many young and old and was always a positive voice with advice and encouragement. Most of all, Frank loved his family and treasured time spent with them. He enjoyed traveling - especially cruise ships - and loved to experience new cultures. Almost daily you could find him at the local Starbucks engaged in one his business endeavors or just relaxing with friends.
Along with his mother he leaves behind his loving wife of 17 years, Vivian Vasilikos; his two children, Pete and Marika; his brother, Michael (Liz) Vasilikos; his sister, Kathy (Nick) Halkopoulos; his nieces, Marika and Thalia; his nephews, Moses (Kimberly) Halkopoulos and baby Elias; all who are of Rehoboth Beach; and his mother-in-law, Maria Katsiafliaka and his sister-in-law, Vasiliki Katsiafliaka, both of Greece.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 8805 Coastal Highway, Ocean City, MD 21842. A public viewing will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958. Interment will immediately follow funeral services at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
